'Tis already the season and weekend recap

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and a fantastic thanksgiving with friends and family! Even though I had to work for thanksgiving, I still was able to get some family time and great food since my husbands' sweet family had their thanksgiving around noon. We were there for a few hours before I had to go home take a quick nap, and go to work that night! I still was very thankful for that day, and for all the other things that I've been blessed with this entire year. God is wonderful!
Well now that Thanksgiving is over, it's time for Christmas! Both Brandon and I LOVE Christmas, and he actually insisted on buying a christmas tree on friday, the day after thanksgiving! So this is what we did this weekend:
Decorated our Christmas tree

Got some kisses under the tree, since we don't have a mistletoe yet...
Finished making my Christmas cards (if you remember, my inspiration was from here)... which I think look better in real life...

And decided on a picture to send to our loved ones this holiday season...

And since it's the season of giving, we also went shopping almost the entire day on Sunday, which made for a very cranky husband by the end of the day, but overall, I was proud of what a good sport he was! So does anyone else feel like they're already broke from all the shopping? Because I do, and I'm not even half way done with all my shopping....

Thanksgiving in style

First of all I would like to say that I am so glad to know that you lovely ladies have not forgot about me! All your sweet comments and "welcome back's" made me feel so happy! You really made my day! Thank you!
Now... I can't believe that Thanksgiving is just in a few days! I love this time of year because I can decorate, and have lots of family and friends over, throw big parties, and eat lots of delicious food in great style! I am getting all giddy just thinking about it!!!! This year will be a bit different since I don't have my family or friends here, and I actually have to work on Thursday, but I can still plan it all in my head, right? But if I would have a party at my house this year, those are some of the table settings and decor I would consider...

This one is so simple to make, and it looks so very pleasing to the eye! I love it!
Look how effortless but at the same time elegant this looks! And those colors just bring out the best autumn shades, don't you think?
This is fun, cheap, and easy, and you could probably
have your kids help with it, too!
I think this needs no intro... Just adorable...
But to be completely honest with you all.... if you leave me with a slice (or more) of this chocolate pumpkin cheesecake ...
and a good portion of manchego, garlic and parmesan cheese, with crispy and crunch green beens, and some juicy poultry... you can forget all about the table settings; I'll eat from a paper plate, with a plastic fork, in a dark kitchen, and still love it! But trust me, if you have a pretty table setting, your food will taste that much better!

So, I'm just wondering, what are some of your favorite thanksgiving foods?

Life is pretty hectic around here right now, and hopefully I'll be able to explain it all once things slow down and I can breath and blog again.
